conclusion:
valid Arguments to be made on both sides
Arguments for
Throughout this page, arguments have been presented to both support, and oppose fracking. First lets talk about the benefits. Earlier research has shown you, that despite what scientists, and government officias say, the United States is much closer to being energy independent than one might think. Charts have been provided, which show, that we in fact do not get most of our oil in the middle east. Research has been presented, which shows if done right and properly regulated, fracking can be very beneficial to the United States economy. The most important point of all, that cannot be overlooked, are the number of jobs the oil companies undisputedl'y create, as discussed on the previous page. The fact is, that their are probably more jobs in available in the oil and gas industry, with the exception of the tech field, than any other industry in the United States.
While I am personally in favor of fracking, if properly regulated and done right, the cons far outweighs the arguments that many people like me have for it. This is a point that I have to concede.

Arguments against
As mentioned above, the fact is this. Until the oil companies clean up their act, and comply with government mandates to reduce pollution, their will always be more people who are against fracking, rather than for it. People like me really have no leg to stand on with the exception of the job creation and energy independence aspects, unfortunately. When reading Palliser's: Fracking Fury, I was shocked, at just how much, the cons to fracking far outweigh the pros. I cannot deny that fracking causes all of the problems that it does. These problems include; earthquakes, methane gas leakage, air pollution, water pollution, and health effects on both animals and people. The fact is, that the oil companies are their own problem when trying to win support for hydraulic fracking. They cause all of the problem listed above. When these things happen, they either deny responsibility, or offer to help clean up and never do. The American public already has a negative view towards oil companies, that fact is a given.
What I don't understand is this? You potentially have a legitimate idea to move this country forward. An idea that can create jobs, reduce our global warming output by up to forty percent in the next fifty to one hundred years, and more importnatly, put the United States further down the path towards energy independence. These are things that the American public woul gladly get behind. Why would you not make sure you do it right, and without seriously polluting the environment, and causing health problems, because research has shown that, if cleaned up substantially, fracking is still a very viable option for Americas future.
